Temporary Recruitment
Temporary employment is an employment situation where an assignee is placed in a position for a certain period of time and in nursing this usually extends to the duration of a shift, either day or night duty. The employment term may vary and is based on a limited duration, a project, the availability of funding or other circumstances dictated by the client.
Nursing Emergencies core business is healthcare recruitment of a temporary and permanent nature.
The key to Temporary Employment Services (TES) in the Healthcare Sector is the appropriate screening of suitable candidates and retaining critical skills. Nursing Emergencies invests in their most valuable resource through continuous professional development and encourages a culture of lifelong learning to secure safe and efficient nurse practioners. Nursing Emergencies is an industry stalwart in self-regulatory compliance of legislation, setting industry standards and promoting ethical practice.
All temporary assignments are voluntary and constitute decent work and atypical employment. Temporary recruitment forms a valuable job creating opportunity through repeated placement of temporary assignees and potential temporary-permanent job conversion.
Business purposes for engaging temporary nursing staff include:
- Temporary surges in bed occupancy
- Seasonal demand due to increased disease profile (winter)
- A permanent employee is off due to leave or maternity leave
- Critical scarce skills
- Outsourcing of HR management
The new world of work with its changing technology, short product life cycles and skills shortages, as well as the impact of globalization on competiveness, means that the Temporary Employment Sector focuses on employment security rather than job security. Temporary assignees, given the nature of TES work, are continually exposed to new technologies, different stakeholders in healthcare and various positions which contributes to their marketability and employment security.

We want our clients to get everything they want and that is why we customise each process to meet the needs of every client looking for permanent employees or contract workers. It is a thorough procedure that saves you time and money.
Contract Outsourcing
Outsourcing is an allocation of specific business processes by a specialist service provider. The major contributing factor to the contract outsourcing model is that the organization utilizing this form of business model cannot handle all aspects of a business process internally due to limited resources.
Some processes are temporary and the organization does not intend to hire in-house professionals to perform the tasks due to contributing factors. Once the outsourcing has taken place, Nursing Emergencies will take responsibility of carrying out the tasks and maintaining the organizations assets.
Why do organizations outsource their business processes?
Key factors as to why organizations outsource their business to Nursing Emergencies include:
- Lack of expertise in some portions of the business process
- Availability of cheaper value added resources, whilst not compromising on quality
- Gives the ability and provides the feasibility to concentrate on other crucial business processes
Understanding the advantages and disadvantages of outsourcing to a vendor or service provider is paramount for the organization. Finding the right service provider is a critical success factor.
Advantages usually overshadow the disadvantages.
Advantages are:
Swiftness and Expertise:
Tasks are outsourced to service providers who specialize in their field. As the outsourced service providers are better equipped and have the technical expertise, the tasks are effectively managed and are completed faster and with better quality output than if left in the hands of the organization.
Concentrating on core process rather than the supporting ones:
Since outsourcing the supporting processes gives the organization more time, this allows the organization to strengthen their core business process.
Reduced operational and recruitment costs:
By incorporating value added benefits to the employee cost, recruitment and operational costs are minimized.
Risk sharing:
One of the critical factors determining the outcome of any campaign is risk-analysis. Outsourcing certain components of your business process helps the organization to shift certain responsibilities to the service provider. Since the outsource service provider is a specialist, they plan your risk mitigating factors better.
